Buick Secrets

So we all have secrets!
Why would I share mine with you?
And should they be free, or not?

The thing about information and knowledge, is that knowledge is power. What you know, that someone else doesn’t, has a value. In a “team”, each team members knowledge strengthens the entire team and makes it what it is.

A chain is as strong as it’s weakest link. The person who doesn’t have the knowledge they need, brings the team down, or gets fired.
When it comes to job promotions, usually (not always) the person with more knowledge (and experience is knowledge usually too) gets the promotion. There are of course exceptions and the promotion may be to someone who knows less, but is a better leader. But that leader will surround himself with a team with… yes knowledge.

Now most people think that the Internet is “FREE” and that all knowledge should be free.
All “essential” knowledge (like how to survive the plague or keep the planet earth going for 1000 more years), in terms of society, yes. Maybe that dissemination of information has to be financed by central government, which indirectly means taxes, which basically means “we” have paid for it anyway, but it means everyone gets access. The rich support the poorer, so everyone is equal knowledge on the “essential” stuff, like how to stay alive.

Does that mean luxury and hobbies should be free as well?

Internet marketeers think they created the “free line”. The truth is that trial periods and samplers and tasters and loss leaders in the shop front window, have gone on for centuries.

But those things have integrity, because they are real. The intention is clear and honest.

The problem with the free-line is that people pretend to give you stuff for free. Some even claim it is their best stuff, yours for free, no money, no obligation.

They claim to be your “mate”.

The excuses why they are doing this are plentiful. “They were just like you once.” “They are enraged about the rip of prices others charge.” “They feel it is their duty to reveal the truth, even at tehir own personal risk.”

Of course it is all HOGWASH!

It is just list building, waiting for the kill later on. The difference is, it is later and not right now.

So what am I up to?

What is my secret?

Stay tuned….
