It’s been a difficult week for mere mortals!

The Stomper girls have rallied up their golf club chums to affiliate promote their web 2.0 course to death. One affiliate even tried to sucker me in by offering me a job IF I had taken the course. Of course that is the exact same offer he made his other 1.28 million spam list, so I have a 1 in 1.28 million chance of working mainly for free. Erm whoopee! (I can do that now, without your blessing, so no thanks)

Certainly the budget Hollywood video production (complete with bad audio edits that an 8 year old could do better) was certainly erm. erm. “interesting” and “entertaining“.
(You do know Hollywood films are mainly fiction, right?)

The course may well be “ok”. And if you need a video to show you how to use StumbleUpon then maybe it is for you. But for $15 bucks there’s a video on that at NicheDragon.com. Hell I may even make that “FREE” now!

But there’s a fundamental problem with delivering a course on the strength that it will benefit your business or make you money. It has to be true!

Certainly web 2 is highly significant “at this moment” as part of your web presence. And it’s even fair to say that “something like” web 2.0, will continue to be part of that business cycle in the forseeable future.

The only problem is that it isn’t web 2.0 any more. It’s already web 3.8! And no I’m not making that up. I am just the first person to “label” it. And the only reason why it needs a NEW LABEL is that it is significantly different that it needs it to separate it from what is already OLD HAT!

Sure, the Stomper girls can add another $1000 addendum and include some of the new stuff under the old web 2.0 label. And if you have yet another 1000 bucks, then you are their bitch! (In a nice warm friendly and fluffy way of course).

Sure I am cynical. Sure I have an agenda. I wish I could have saved you 1400 bucks!

Money on education is never (usually) wasted. But is this education?

Sure they have spent several hours finding out what does and doesn’t work. Hell! Even you did that today right? I know I did

Yep maybe they do have a pleasant little directory of web 2 properties they have graded. Hey people – this is the Internet. I can show you a YouTube video with over 3000 web 2 properties! “But the grading” Andy whimpers… Yep that was last months grading. That was before they opened the flood gates, oh and then got more resources to open the flood gates some more.

That was before 100,000+ people saw the FREEBIE video promoting the 6 web properties, which are fast becoming worthless.

I talk of education. What I hope you will learn is this…

“Once something has become a fashion, that fashion is over.”
Once something is main stream, it no longer has a unique edge, or pulling power or novelty or buzz. It is OLD HAT.

If you want to succeed. If you want to stay ahead. You can not FOLLOW the pack. You have to lead it. You have to think outside of the box and do the NEXT thing, not the thing being done now.

And can you see the logical conclusion of this?
Yep you need the Stomper girls to hold your hand and show you every month what has just become fashionable. The new, old hat. And hmm. I wonder what that is going to cost you?

Hmm, how about a monthly fee?
Hmm !

And if you are 1 of the “lucky” 3000+ “member” of the Stomper masons, you have the same edge as the other 2,999 members, who are prepared to pay money, to FIGHT A WAR for more money. And they will not be playing nice, with you, nor anyone else who is not a member. Do you think they won’t steal your market share, or borrow your niche (aka like recently occurred on the Immediate Edge) just because you go to school together?

The saying is keep your friends close and your enemies even closer. I don’t remember the tag line which said and pay $997 bucks per month for it and base everything you do on on the same team briefing as the enemy.

Maybe I went for coffee at that crucial moment. Damn that coffee! Hmm damn that subliminal movie inserted by my rival, to make me thirsty at that crucial moment. (OK you know that last part was fiction right? But boy you must be thirsty right now, while I’m drinking this luxurious thirst quenching tea while I type this…)

WHY?

Why do I mention this? What am I selling? Where is my half the price, life time update membership club alternative?

Currently I do not have one. I do not have the energy. Nor do I have an affiliate version.

And I do not really want one either. I do not really believe n training that shows you how to do the “now”. Maybe there is a need and that is fine. But that is exactly what it is. Training to do the now. If you need that to get up to date, then go for it.

But that is NOT education. Education is when you can start to think for yourself. To start solving your own problems. To be able to research and learn off your own bat. To find your own unique USPs and edge, because they genuinely will be unique for you, as it was your own work. They will be yours. Not (old) ideas you have co-learnt with 3000+ other enemies.

I can not offer you that at this moment
Yep Andy, I missed the big boat on that one! Hell I’m not even as attractive as you, and you are no beauty queen!

So all I can hope is that you go away with ONE thought.

The one thought is;

Pete’s Rule of Internet Entrepreneurship no 2:
Web 2.0 “WAS” just a “channel” to do what we normally have ALWAYS done.
Web 3.8 is the NEW channel to do what we normally have ALWAYS done.
But it is no longer just “Content is King”, but that will do you for this month.

What? You can create worthy content in less than 30 days? I don’t believe you, but go for it. You must be very rich! Oh you’re not rich even though you have worthy content you can create in less than a month! Wow! Really? Oh! Well that must be because “content is king” is not enough any more.

Next month, maybe we can talk about that? Assuming I’m still alive and am not selling a Web 3.8 training course for $1400 bucks. Now would I do that to you? The answer is NO BTW. Or at least it would never be that much and it would never only be training you to do the “now”. Or of course it may be FREE, if I thought you even cared…
