Abraham – the secret behind the secret
Last night I watched
I’m looking forward to watching
It’s very easy to be sceptical. I am an atheist. I do NOT believe in a God/s. But I have always believed in nature, in the power of people to know right from wrong (even if they don’t act on it), and one of the happiest times in my life was when I almost became a Reiki Master (level 3).
It’s difficult to explain what “philosophies” like Mother Nature (ecology), Reiki and Abraham are, to someone who hasn’t already experienced it. But AFAIC they are not “religious”. There is no master boss/es controlling you, or wiling you to act in a particular way.
There are of course some elements in religion which are a good thing. I view the Ten Commandments as basically a guide book for being “nice” to each other. So there’s nothing wrong with the principle/sentiment behind that. But when you couple that with hell and damnation, being excluded from heaven, living in eternal misery if you break their (the church) rules, and historically of course, give us all your worldly goods while you’re at it (or at least donate in the box on the way out).
So for these reasons, I am always very reluctant about anything which smells of religion, cults or groups of people trying to control you.
There are also endless arrays of crooks and con men out there, who will tell you anything (even what you want to hear) to get your money.
You can argue, it’s a service and that if that “story” is worth that to you, then it is OK for you to pay. It’s little different to buying a book. EXCEPT that they are stating it is true and that from then on, you can’t live without them! That is a little different![]()
But the commercialism, or not, of Abraham isn’t the point! The “concept” is.
For me the concept is empowerment. As ridiculous as it sounds, being told that it is OK to be “happy, with no strings attached, is very convincing!
It’s so ridiculous I cried!
You might imagine it is a bit like telling a murderer he is not a bad man and that his mum still loves him, and just for that second, he loses his inner anger, and gets it (repents if you will). She doesn’t agree with what he has done, of course. But love is supposed to be unconditional right!
But how crazy is this world when we have to be told that being happy is OK?
And how even crazier is it, when that news is so
What religion have you ever discovered which says it is OK to be happy? How can that be?
Well I can guess that it is because church and religion is a “man made” interpretation of how those people see God. How God has spoken to them. But that is their God, their interpretation, and possibly (quite probably) the way they want to control, or influence you. SURE it might be for the common good. A common sense, live in harmony with mother nature and be nice to each other way. Which by itself is perfect.
May be some people even need that invisible force and threat to control them. So if it works for you, that is great. Personally I don’t need a church of “man” representing someone elses (human) interpretation of a God/s. It’s a bit like football. OK as a spectator sport, much better as a sport you play yourself. You can watch from the sidelines, or you can be in the game. But whose team is it anyway and who makes the rules? Not one of the team…
But philosophies like Reiki, Abraham, Lingo Therapy, and to some extent, the less cranky versions of NLP, indicate that there may be something outside the God box.
You can call it Mother Nature, believing in yourself, life common sense, or anything you want.
I still can’t believe I had to be told it was OK to be happy!
I still can’t believe that is so rare, that it made me cry!
We are so constantly programmed by other peoples negative and aggressive and envious reactions, that we seldom get the time to work out our own opinion of ourselves. They probably don’t do it deliberately, but because they are not AWARE that they have anything else within them selves. But the thing about humans, is we do HURT, deeply, when other humans don’t “like” us. We need to belong. To be appreciated and respected for something.
You can pretend to not care if someone shouts at you, moans or beats you up. And that happens all the time, from lovers, friends, family, work colleagues, every one. But deep down, it hurts, deeply.
I guess that is why Abraham is so profound for me. Someone who isn’t shouting, moaning or beating me up. Someone who wants me to be happy. And with no strings attached. I won’t even go to hell, if I can’t manage to be happy.
Does that seem rare to you? I would hope not, but I’m pretty sure it is.
So now you all think I am a new age hippy. Well sorry but that is your problem not mine
I have to go off now and be happy! What are you going off to do?
Peace And Light.
Peter.
