Good News Great News part 2
OK well Clayton (not the redhead) Makepeace’s presentation may not have been the GOOD NEWS vibe I was expecting. I mean he implied he was going to tell us why he was still doing well, and not how to take advantage of a bad situation (my para-phrasing).None the less, there was some good points in what he said.
But even he is missing the real point, about how to cope with a recession. In fact every one seems to be!
I’m certainly not saying that if you do what Clayton suggests, that you won’t make money. You are more likely to, than if you don’t, although we coudl say that about almost any “action” based solution.
But the “reason” behind why you would do such a thing, is what is going to bite you in the ass, if you haven’t worked it out. It’s back to what Frank Kern reminded us all, was called “congruance”.
If you’re just in life to make money, go right ahead. You probably will. I’m less sure you wil enjoy it as much as you think.
What I mena by that, is above all, humans search for “meaning”. Meaning to elllivate our own status, to be noticed and to make a difference, an meaning as in helping our global familly and mother earth, and even meaning in there being some higher force that we are a part of. If it just ended with ourselves, it seems a bit of an anti-climax?
So people may be impressed for 10 seconds at the party when the ask “what do you do” and you reply “well made 2.4 million this month”, but they may not be as impressed when they hear “how” you did it, and how many starving mouths you took the moeny from. Yes you see money can have a bad taste to it.
I’m not even implying that you will do anythign bad, or certainly not that you meant to do anything bad. But if you promise people something, when income is less “disposable” it had better do what it said on the tin!
But if you are just in it fo rthe money, and you don;t know or care or nderstand what e tin says, it is just atin to you, “tins for money” we could call it, then what chance do you have of making what you do have meaning?
Does business or life have to have meaning? Well that is a question only you can answer for yourself.
So what does this have to do with Good News or making money? Everything and nothing!
I want to share with you what I think will beat recession. I want to shar ewith you what I think gives meaning to business. I want to share with you how havign a meaning behind your business, earns you heaps more money. You can think if it as just a side effect of karma, or if you are cinical you can think of it as good marketing, in the “purest” sense of the word (knowing what the market wants, knowing what you want and joining the two in a symbiosis).
So I’m going to do what I’ve never done before. I’ve no idea if I will ever do it again. But for sure I am only going to do it for a handful of people.
What am I going to do?
Here is one way to find out…
