Is Facebook a teenage wasteland?
AYPK Facebook started off as a university focused site, actually it started at Harvard!
We’ve been developing apps for the Facebook platform and run some experiments.
The majority of popular apps are fairly mindless lists that friends share between them selves. This level of participation is disappointing and reflects poorly on Facebook’s citizens - making Facebook look like a teenage wasteland. Not a place prime for youth culture advertising real estate.
Whilst the citizen demographics are supposed to be shifting from 80:20 (under to over 26 think was the age figure) to 20:80 the mass of current users seems to be fairly, erm, let’s say un-demanding!
Do you think Facebook is a teenage wasteland?
Is it following in the footsteps of YouTube’s glut of Binge Drinking girls who seem to rejoice at camera phone videos of themselves puking and falling over, showing their knickers?
Stories of University life and mentality and letting off steam, are quite rife. But are they supposed to be like this for the majority of the time?
LMK WYT…
