The reach of Twitter

Probably No Surprises (PNS) here.

100% of my web traffic on the 15th to TwitterViral.com (the Twitter platform extension) came from “Twitter”.

But what has surprised me is that 60% of that was from the Twitter Public Timeline, and not from my own profile.

What does that tell you?

You might not realise the ramifications of that instantly, but just think about it for a while.

People who can’t see the benefit of Twitter, well erm. …

Lesson 2:

How do I know this and so quickly? Because I no longer use the snooping Google analytics! I run my own web statistics package on my own domains and they update in “real-time”

SO if I want to see why a traffic spike happened, in real-time, I can!
I don’t have to wait 5 hours any more for some watered down version.
Lesson 3:

I just took (the snooping) Google Adwords off this blog, never to return.
I’m tired of earning token peanuts for diverting my traffic away to my competitors.
But how can one still monetise?

Well I announced recently that I was going to release something which could generate more money than Adwords, provide related quality content and help drive extra traffic to you (not just take traffic away).
