Followers of Fashion – Part 2
“General the horse has bolted… “
“ah ha – let them eat cake”
Yes almost pure nonsense and nothing to do with video marketing or fashion marketing. Or has it? (I don’t mean the marketing of fashion in this context I mean marketing in a fashion based style.)
The horse has bolted:
OK we covered this in post 1 enough.
In business terms you can call it leading the market, or maintaining your market share, or dominating your market, versus, trying to clone success or diverting a part of the Niagra falls down in to a puddle.
Do you want to own a load of puddles (arguably easy but tedious to manage and very few people will step in your puddles anyway) or do you want to at leastbe par of the sea?
Do you feel lucky punk? Well do ya? “Did I step in 3 of your puddles, or just 2?” Well pardon me for not noticing my little toe got wet Clancy”
(OK obviously a movie trivia quiz day)
But in marketing terms, there ar some things we know about the horse bolting.
There was a horse (ROFL)
The horse must have stayed somewhere, maybe a barn.
The horse must have gone somewhere to do something and be staying somewhere else now. Hmm.
If we knew where all the horses bolted to, then we’d have a flock of horses.
(OK so it isn’t a flock of horses, so smile at me)
So what are the tired and tested success aspects of bolting horses?
Can you work that you for yourself before part 3?
“ah ha – let them eat cake”
So have we met up with Alice in Wonderland and confused her with some French royalty during some sort of IM acid trip? Or is there a point here?
Seems like you’ll have to wait till part 3 to find out what this has to do with video marketing.
