Video Marketing SWF video player – for zilch
When you are in the video marketing creation industry, it’s easy to forget what it is like for real people.
Because we have all the video production and creation tools, by default we have all the players and all the video compression codes installed. But…
Not necessarily so for the most important aspect, the end users.
I made someone a quick training video in Techsmith Camtasia. It went out as Flash, rather then FLV video or video, and it was great that a 14 minute video, in 640 size, was less than 20MB.
Unfortunately, despite the auto built web page, they couldn’t play it!!! Aargh!
Because I have the creation tools, on my own system, I can just bypass the HTML page and click on a SWF directly to play it. But you have to own Adobe/Macromedia Flash for that to happen.
SO I made a quick desktop Flash SWF video player. Drum roll please….
SWF TV:
No prizes. Looks terrible. Just plays SWF “video” files from the desktop. That’s it.
Version 1 I am going to give away for zero cost and it is even re-ditributable so long as it is lef tin tact.
Yeah sure it has an advert for a couple of things I do. I think it’s called viral marketing, isn’t it?
Anyway it’s dead easy to ignore my pitch fest and just play swf video files from your desktop. No web browser required. It just plays, like the video fairies intended.
There is NO install required. It just works. Double click my EXE and play your SWF video files.
It requires a 800×600 screen resolution, minimum. PC only. I can do an Apple Macintosh version, if any one cares?
Join this newsletter to get the download link for my SWF video file player, which I am naming “SWF TV”. The newsletter will only be used for telling you about SWF TV updates, of which I suspect there will be many. Hopefully even a “nice looking “version one day…
